Bachelor's Program

The Department of Arts and Design is the merged result (2008) from the Department of Arts and the Department of Plastic Design. We are the few departments taking dual-line development in art and design comparing to the other similar domestic departments. With the purpose of improving the students’ capability in expertise and employment competitiveness in mind, we adopt all-program framework as our courses, making the less compulsory classes, more flexible in class choice, and enabling the students to develop their own learning approach. The facilities of this department include various studio, such as woodwork, ceramics, metalwork, photo, darkroom, painting, modeling making, 3D printing, CNC & laser cutting, and digital design. In the future, it is hoped that the Department could advance in the following direction: nurturing excellence in arts, assisting diverse and individualized development, enhancing both the muse and the action, providing rich and stimulating learning environment, responding to the contemporary and globalized world with vision.

Career pathways for the Art students mainly include: elementary school art teacher, creative practitioners, and cross-disciplinary integration talents in the Arts, Art Administration Professionals.
